Northern Illinois FC
First and foremost I would like to welcome you all to Northern Illinois FC. Two formerly
independent clubs - Spectre Soccer Club and Sycamore Soccer United - have merged to form
one club that is truly driven to benefit all players in DeKalb County.
If you want your child to not only learn high-level soccer skills, but also develop a
positive attitude, NIFC is the place you'll want to be. We have various teams at
various age levels, which allows us to 'promote' players as their skills develop.
Our boys teams compete at Northern Illinois Soccer League (NISL)
regional tournaments, and our girls teams compete at Illinois Womens Soccer League (IWSL)
regional tournaments. Competing at regional tournaments helps us to constantly guage
our level of training against other clubs throughout Illinois.
Our club members have the opportunity to compete all throughout the year at the
DeKalb Park District Sports and
Recreation Center as well.
Northern Illinois FC Mission
It is the mission of Northern Illinois FC to provide an
experience that helps prepare players for the next stage of life – an
experience that results in successes and disappointments, strength of
character, lasting friendships, and learning to balance work and play.
A competitive club provides advanced opportunities for all players. We
focus on individual growth and development. We are dedicated to
advancing players from within the organization by preparing them with
the skills and knowledge needed to compete at every level. We also
challenge players to reach beyond their comfort zones in order to
improve not only as players, but as leaders, teammates, individuals, and
students.
Not only is our goal to develop the individual player but,
also develop competitive teams at each age group and consistently place
teams in appropriate divisions in leagues that promote appropriate
growth and development.
